![]() ![]() On the flip side, I've been seeing a lot of complaints on the internet about modern Gibson, so that certainly gives me pause. The Les Paul is a Les Paul, so admittedly there is some brand-name bias, but I like the heritage and history. I've done some research and have narrowed down to the Gibson Les Paul Studio, and the Schecter Solo-II Blackjack, and wanted to get some opinions. One option I'm considering is a Les Paul style guitar - I've wanted a Les Paul ever since first starting to play as a kid. ![]() ![]() I play because I enjoy it, and have no illusions of touring or playing professionally. I play mostly rock, but a little bit of everything. I've been playing an Epiphone for years, and have no complaints, but just want an upgrade. I'm looking to pick up a new guitar (the first new instrument I'll be buying for myself since I was in college), and am looking to finally get a "nice" instrument rather than a "budget" one.
